General description

Goat serum is applicable for a wide range of cell lines and primary cell cultures. It can be used as a supplement in growth media to culture primary cells obtained from guinea pig embryos, mouse peritoneal macrophages, monkey kidneys, chick embryos, and well-established cell lines. Serum provides essential nutritional and macromolecular growth factors for cell growth when added to the basal medium.

Application

Sera from goat has been used:

  • as a supplement to incubate mice ventricular cryosections for 4-hydroxynonenal (4HNEJ-2) immunostaining
  • to block unspecific antigens on reticulum cell sarcoma for immunofluorescence
  • as a component of the phosphate buffer saline (PBS) for incubation of slide-mounted sections for immunohistochemical analysis

The Parkinson's disease (PD) evolves over an extended period of time with the onset occurring long before clinical signs begin to manifest. Characterization of the molecular events underlying the PD onset is instrumental for the development of diagnostic markers and

Chemical synaptic transmission relies on the Ca2+-induced fusion of transmitter-laden vesicles whose coupling distance to Ca2+ channels determines synaptic release probability and short-term plasticity, the facilitation or depression of repetitive responses. Heart rupture and heart failure are deleterious complications of myocardial infarction. The ShcA gene encodes for three protein isoforms, p46-, p52- and p66ShcA. p66ShcA induces oxidative stress. We studied the role of p66ShcA post-infarction. Expression of p66ShcA was analyzed in

In response to stress such as virus infection, cells can stall translation by storing mRNAs away in cellular compartments called stress granules (SGs). This defense mechanism favors cell survival by limiting the use of energy and nutrients until the stress
