General description

V5 is an amino coterminal protein consisting of a C-terminus cysteine-rich region that resembles a cysteine-rich metal binding domain. It is encoded by the "P" gene of the paramyxovirus SV5.
The rabbit Anti-V5 synthetic peptide antibody reacts with V5 tagged recombinant fusion proteins expressed in transfected mammalian cells and from in vitro translation.

Specificity

Recognizes V5 Tag (GKPIPNPLLGLDST) fusion proteins

Application

Anti-V5 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in:
  • immunocytochemistry
  • immunoprecipitation
  • western blot

Physical form

Solution in 0.01M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4 containing 15 mM sodium azide.

Storage and Stability

Store at 2-8 °C for up to one month. For extended storage, freeze in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Storage in “frost-free” freezers is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilution samples should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.
