This product is purified by phenol extraction and is not considered ‘Ultrapure’. Currently, the term ‘Ultrapure’ is not assigned to any of the LPS products. However, the method of purification is highly indicative of the type and amount of contaminants that may be present. Of the various methods of preparation and purification available, the most pure products are those purified by ion exchange chromatography followed by those purified by gel filtration. Unfortunately, a chromatography purified version of LPS from Klebsiella is not currently available.
