Gene Information

General description

The Homeobox C4 (HOXC4) is located on the human chromosome at 12q13.13.

Specificity

Anti-HOXC4 (N-terminal) recognizes human HOXC4 (also known as Hox-3E and CP19).

Application

Anti-HOXC4 (N-terminal) antibody produced in rabbit may be used in:
  • immunoblotting
  • immunoprecipitation
  • immunofluorescence

Biochem/physiol Actions

Homeobox C4 (HOXC4) transcription factor/protein stimulates the action of activation-induced cytosine deaminase (AID). The HOXC4 gene is upregulated due to the estrogen-estrogen receptor complexes. HOXC4 gene is expressed in the proliferating lymphocytes of B-, T- and natural killer (NK) cell lineage. This gene expression is elevated with the progression of lymphoid differentiation.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

Storage and Stability

Store at –20 °C. For continuous use, the product may be stored at 2–8 °C for up to one month. For extended storage, freeze in working aliquots at –20 °C. Repeated freezing and thawing, or storage in “frost-free” freezers, is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilutions should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.
