A fluorogenic substrate for furin (kcat/Km ~2 X 104 M-1 s-1), a mammalian homolog of the yeast Kex2 endoprotease. Also serves as a substrate for related protein, prohormone convertase 2 (PC2) (kcat/Km ~6 X 103 M-1 s-1). Excitation max: ~360-380 nm; emission max: ~430-460 nm).
