Highly purified non-ionic fraction of agar. Forms gel with superior mechanical qualities at very low concentrations. Can be mounted on microscope slides or transparent plastic. When dried, films are elastic and durable and show little or no deterioration on staining with either protein or lipoprotein dyes.
