General description

Platinum dish, with reinforced rim is made of precious metals that play an important role in the chemical analysis of materials used for high temperature applications.
Platinum labware has excellent resistance to acids such as acetic, hydrochloric, hydrofluoric, hydroiodic, nitric, selenic, and sulfuric, and to oxidation at high temperatures. Dishes of platinum can be cleaned by boiling in a suitable solvent. For the removal of substances which have alloyed with the surface, scour with alumina powder.

  • Can also be fabricated using 10% Rh-Pt., 5% Au-Pt., pure Pt., Ag., and Au.
