General description

Sodium permanganate solution (NaMnO4) is a water soluble salt solution that can prepared by using manganese oxide with sodium hypochloride. It can be used as an etchant in electronic circuits. It can also be used as a fixing agent in electron microscopy.

Application

  • Describing the permeability of permanganate co-ions in a CEM with varying supporting electrolyte concentrations: Research focused on the transport properties of sodium permanganate in ion-exchange membranes, providing insights into its applications in electrochemical devices. (HJ Cassady, MF Rochow, MA Hickner - Journal of Membrane Science, 2024). Read more.
  • The long-term removal of dissolved Mn from drinking water via membrane filtration using sodium permanganate as a pre-oxidant: The study demonstrates the use of sodium permanganate as an effective pre-oxidant in membrane filtration systems for purifying drinking water.
