Descripción general

Dimethyldioctadecylammonium bromide is a cationic lipid that stimulates immune responses, activates macrophages, and binds to antigens.

Aplicación

Dimethyldioctadecylammonium bromide has been used in a study to assess the interaction of its monolayers with DNA using specular neutron reflection, surface pressure-area isotherms, and Brewster angle microscopy. It has also been used in a study to investigate new adjuvants for use in kill vaccines for bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV).

Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) infections cause respiratory, reproductive, and enteric disease in cattle. Vaccination raises herd resistance and limits the spread of BVDV among cattle. Both killed and modified live vaccines against BVDV are available. While modified live vaccines

Dioctadecyldimethylammonium bromide (DODAB) is a double chain cationic lipid, which assembles as bilayer structures in aqueous solution. The precise structures formed depend on, e.g., lipid concentration and temperature. We here combine differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and X-ray scattering (SAXS and
