General description
αLa α-amilasa es el principal proteína secretora constituyente de la saliva. Contiene 496 aminoácidos y tiene dos isoformas, glucosilada y no glucosilada. αEl gen de la α-amilasa está localizado en el cromosoma humano 1p21.1. αLa α-amilasa se produce principalmente en el páncreas y la saliva.

The exact amount is determined by the units/mg protein listed on the Certificate of Analysis. For example, the lot SLCN0121 tested at 1474 units per milligram protein. The total amount of the amylase (mg) in the bottle for the 100 unit package contains 0.07 mg, the 500 unit package contains 0.34 mg, and the 2500 unit package will contain 1.70 mg of protein. This lot is 11.8% protein. These values will change from lot to lot, but the actual mass in the bottles remains low. Other products, such as A4551, are sold by weight.
