Fibroblast activation protein 1 (FAP-1) is a membrane-associated protein tyrosine phosphatase. It is made up of an ezrin-like cytoskeleton binding domain, six PSD95/Dlg/Z-1 homology (PDZ) domains, and a leucine zipper motif. The FAP-1 gene is located on the human chromosome at 4q21.3. Anti-FAP-1 antibody detects endogenous levels of total FAP-1 protein.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human FAP-1.
Immunogen Range: 331-380
Application
Anti-FAP-1 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in western blotting (1: 500) and immunohistochemistry (10 μg/ml)[1].
Biochem/physiol Actions
Fibroblast activation protein 1 (FAP-1) is involved in tumorigenesis, apoptosis, cancer progression, and insulin signaling. It acts as a prognostic marker in high-grade serous ovarian cancer and breast cancer. Overexpression of the FAP-1 gene is associated with several human cancers such as hepatocellular, pancreatic, ovarian, hematological, and colon cancer. Mutations in the FAP-1 gene lead to liver and lung cancer.

Fluoride has been considered as a risk factor of cardiovascular disease due to its endothelial toxicology. However, the mechanism underlying the endothelial toxicity of fluoride has not been clearly illustrated. MiR-200c-3p was strongly linked with endothelial function and its level

As revealed by intracellular pools of nonactive Fas (Apo-1), export of Fas to the cell surface is often impaired in human tumors, thereby inactivating Fas ligand-mediated apoptosis. Here, we demonstrate that association with Fas-associated phosphatase 1 (FAP-1) attenuates Fas export

Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) are critically involved in tumor progression by maintaining extracellular mesenchyma (ECM) production and improving tumor development. Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) has been proved to promote ECM formation and tumor progression. However, the mechanisms of COX-2 mediated CAFs activation have
Clinical data suggest that the protein tyrosine phosphatase PTPN13 exerts an anti-oncogenic effect. Its exact role in tumorigenesis remains, however, unclear due to its negative impact on FAS receptor-induced apoptosis. Methods: We crossed transgenic mice deleted for PTPN13 phosphatase activity

Protein tyrosine phosphatase-Basophil (PTP-Bas) is a membrane-associated protein tyrosine phosphatase with five PDZ domains and is involved in apoptosis, tumorigenesis, and insulin signaling. The interaction between PTP-Bas and tandem-PH-domain-containing protein 1/2 (TAPP1/2) plays an essential role in the regulation of
