General description

Ras association domain family member 5 (RASSF5) is also known as novel Ras effector- 1 (NORE-1). It exists in three isoforms and the gene encoding it is located on human chromosome 1q32.1.

Immunogen

peptide corresponding to the NORE1 protein (amino acids 313-329). This sequence is located in the RA domain of NORE1 and is 100% conserved between human, mouse, rat, and hamster.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Ras association domain family member 5 (RASSF5) is a tumor suppressor protein. It interacts with kinases like mammalian sterile 20-like kinase 1/2 (MST1/2). RASSF5 is involved in the regulation of cell cycle and apoptosis.

Physical form

Solution of 1 mg/mL in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.

As a result of alternative splicing and differential promoter usage, RASSF5 exists in at least three isoforms (RASSF5A-RASSF5C), which may play different roles in tumorigenesis. The present study was to detect the role of RASSF5A, B and C in esophageal
