The SCT125 is neither a pre-stain nor a loading dye. According to the data sheet, the recommendation is to first run the gel, and then immerse it in a 1 to 10,000 dilution of SCT125 post-electrophoresis. Instructions for its use can be found on the product's data sheet, found in the DOCUMENTATION section of the Product Detail Page: https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/product/mm/sct125#product-documentation

Would gel green work for a gel reader that uses blue light instead of UV light? The excitation needs to be about 480 nm
1 answer-
Yes, this product compatible with either a 254 nm UV transilluminator or a gel reader equipped with visible light excitation (such as a 488 nm laser-based gel scanner or a Dark Reader).
