The sFRP Inhibitor II, also referenced under CAS 302804-57-5, controls the biological activity of sFRP. This small molecule/inhibitor is primarily used for Activators/Inducers applications.
Synonym(s):
sFRP Inhibitor II, Wnt Pathway Activator V, 2-(2-(2-Imino-4-oxo-thiazolidin-5-yl)-acetylamino)-4,5-dimethyl-thiophene-3-carboxylic acid ethyl ester, Secreted Frizzled Related Protein-1 Inhibitor II
A cell-permeable iminooxothiazolidine compound that is shown to counteract the antagonizing effect of SARP-2/sFRP-1 (secreted frizzled related protein-1) against Wnt-3/frizzled interaction and restore cellular response to Wnt-3 stimulation (by a 2.3-fold enhancement at 15 µM) in U2OS-based reporter assays. Also reported to increase total bone area and the number of osteoblasts (by ~20% and ~45%, respectively) in a murine ex vivo calvarial bone formation assay.
