Description

General description

β;-Caryophyllene is a volatile sesquiterpene compound that can be used as a flavoring agent.[1] It is one of the major volatile organic compounds in Eugenia caryophyllata essential oil[2], Psidium guajava L. leaves[3], Arabidopsis thaliana flowers[4] and Artemisia annua L. aerial parts.[5]

Application

• Essential Oil Constituents as Anti-Inflammatory and Neuroprotective Agents: An Insight through Microglia Modulation.: ß-Caryophyllene shows significant potential as an anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective agent by modulating microglia, which plays a crucial role in neuroinflammation (Stojanovic et al., 2024) (Stojanovic et al., 2024).
