General description
Extracellular matrix protein 1 (ECM1) is a glycoprotein. It is expressed in skin and other tissues. The gene encoding this protein is localized on human chromosome 1q21.2.
This ELISA antibody pair detects Human Extracellular Matrix Protein 1 (ECM1)

Biochem/physiol Actions
Extracellular matrix protein 1 (ECM1) has a role in cell proliferation, mineralization and angiogenesis. The protein has been shown to have a role in cancer invasion and progression. It is associated with hepatocellular carcinoma. Mutations in the ECM1 gene have been linked to lipoid proteinosis. The protein also promotes the Warburg effect, which is an oncogenic switch that allows cancerous cells to take in more glucose than non-cancerous cells.

Bacterial efflux pumps are an important pathogenicity trait because they extrude a variety of xenobiotics. Our laboratory previously identified in silico Burkholderia collagen-like protein 8 (Bucl8) in the hazardous pathogens Burkholderia pseudomallei and Burkholderia mallei. We hypothesize that Bucl8, which

Following a successful renal transplantation circulating markers of inflammation may remain elevated, and systemic inflammation is associated with worse clinical outcome in renal transplant recipients (RTRs). Vitamin D-receptor (VDR) activation is postulated to modulate inflammation and endothelial function. We aimed
CD5L is a pleiotropic player in liver fibrosis controlling damage, fibrosis and immune cell content.

Chronic hepatic inflammation leads to liver fibrosis, which may progress to cirrhosis, a condition with high morbidity. Our aim was to assess the as yet unknown role of innate immunity protein CD5L in liver fibrosis. CD5L was measured by ELISA
