General description

Mirex is an organochlorine insecticide used for control of the imported fire ant (Solenopsis richteri Forel and Solenopsis invicta Buren).

Application

Mirex may be used as an internal reference standard to evaluate instrument performance during the determination of polybrominated diphenyl ethers and polychlorinated biphenyls in human serum and plasma by gas chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry method.
