General description
Los lotes típicos de fosfatidilcolina de soja purificada tienen un contenido de ácidos grasos de aproximadamente a un 13 % de C16:0 (palmítico), un 4 % de C18:0 (esteárico), un 10 % de C18:1(oleico), un 64 % de C18:2 (linoleico) y un 6% de C18:3 (linolénico) con contribuciones mínimas de otros ácidos grasos. Esto correspondería un peso molecular promedio de aproximadamente 776.
La fosfatidilcolina purificada es soluble en cloroformo y etanol.
Otros fosfolípidos principales son la fosfatidiletanolamina y el fosfatidilinositol. Puede haber otros fosfolípidos y lípidos neutros como los triglicéridos, los tocoferoles y los esteroles. También puede haber carbohidratos.
Se ha publicado un procedimiento para la determinación de la cantidad de oxidación de la fosfatidilcolina de huevo en una preparación liposómica mediante la medición del índice de oxidación.[1] El índice de oxidación es el cociente entre la absorbancia a 233 nm y la absorbancia a 215 nm. Se eligió esta última longitud de onda porque hay poca contribución del carbonilo del ácido graso a la absorbancia a esta longitud de onda, lo que permite el seguimiento de la ley de Beer.
Se ha publicado un método para la determinación del contenido de colina.[2]

Biochem/physiol Actions
La fosfatidilcolina se utiliza para la preparación de suspensiones vesiculares, comúnmente denominadas liposomas, o como monocapas. Las monocapas se han formado utilizando una disolución de fosfatidilcolina de soja al 1% en hexano.[7]
Se han medido los cambios inducidos por la valinomicina en los potenciales de membrana de los eritrocitos y las suspensiones vesiculares de fosfolípidos (fosfatidilcolina de la yema del huevo más colesterol) utilizando colorantes de cianina con carga positiva que respondieron fluorimétricamente al cambio de potencial.[8]
Se ha incorporado rodopsina purificada en vesículas de fosfatidilcolina de soja.[9]

How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers.
