Application

CNQX has been used:

• as an α-Amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid (AMPA)/kainate blocker to study its effects on cytoneme formation in pluripotent embryonic stem cells (pESCs)
• glutamate blocker to reduce the synaptic input during current-clamp recordings in central antennal lobe neurons
• as a non-N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor blocker to study its effects on the heart rate in rats
