Descripción

General description

Norbuprenorphine is the primary active metabolite of the opiate buprenorphine in urine. This internal standard is suitable for quantitation of norbuprenorphine levels or isotope dilution methods by GC/MS or LC/MS for pain prescription monitoring, clinical toxicology, urine drug testing or forensic analysis. Buprenorphine, sold under trade names such as Buprenex^®, Subutex^® and Suboxone^®, is an opiate drug used to treat opioid addiction and moderate to acute pain.

Application

• Improving GC-MS Analysis of Norbuprenorphine: A study by Gervais JR and Hobbs GA discusses the use of an acetyl derivative to enhance the GC-MS analysis of Norbuprenorphine in urine, particularly in the presence of high concentrations of Buprenorphine, highlighting its significance as an analytical standard in forensic and clinical toxicology (Gervais and Hobbs, 2016).
