General description

Bicine is an inorganic compound used to make Bicine buffer, a "Good buffer" that is commonly used in molecular biology and biochemistry. Bicine is a zwitterionic substituted glycine that is stable and soluble in water. It is has a pKa of 8.3, ideal for biological sytems with a pH range of 7.6 - 9.0.

Application

Redi-Dri is an innovative packaging product line that helps eliminate clumping material by adding extra packaging process steps without any chemical additives, anti-clumping agents, or hydrophobic compounds. Redi Dri offers a more convenient and safer way to handle the products.
Bicine is typically used for protein analysis:
  • for SDS-PAGE or Western blot assay, for column wash buffer, to pH solutions, to make digestion buffer for GFP & FRET Microscopy
  • labeling buffer to prepare antibody solution for labeing for fluorecent assays
Recommended buffer for low temperature biochemical work. Used in the preparation of stable substrate solution for serum guanase determination. Spacer in plasma protein fractionation with Sephadex® by isotachophoresis.

Features and Benefits

  • Redi-Dri design controls moisture for hygroscopic chemicals that commonly clump
  • Anhydrous powder remains free-flowing and easy to use
  • Eliminates clumps, for safer routine use in lab
  • Maintains product moisture, quality, and attributes
