General description
La thymidine est également connue sous le nom de pyrimidine désoxynucléoside. La désoxythymidine est un nucléoside présent dans l′ADN. Dans la structure double brin de l′ADN, la thymidine s'apparie avec la désoxyadéninosine.
Application
La thymidine peut être utilisée dans les cocktails HT et HAT pour la fusion, la sélection et le clonage d′hybridomes. Elle a servi :
- De source de nucléotide dans du milieu essentiel minimum pour évaluer l′excroissance de blastocystes dérivés de iSCNT (transfert de noyaux de cellules somatiques interespèces).
- Comme supplément dans un milieu de sélection du type milieu de Eagle modifié par Dulbecco (DMEM) utilisé pour produire des anticorps anti-neurogranine (NRGN).
- Pour préparer une solution mère de THMG (thymidine, hypoxanthine, glycine, méthotrexate) et de THG pour l′entretien de cellules de lymphome de souris.
Biochem/physiol Actions
La thymidine sert à la synchronisation cellulaire durant la phase S. Dans la voie de récupération des pyrimidines, la pyrimidine phosphorylase convertit de manière réversible la thymine en thymidine.

How can I solubilize Product T1895, Thymidine?

This product is soluble in water (50 mg/mL), yielding a clear, colorless solution with heating. For aqueous concentrations higher than 50 mg/mL, solubility can be enhanced with the addition of a small amount of NaOH solution. Add the base drop wise with slow stirring. Thymidine is also soluble in methanol, hot alcohol, hot acetone, hot ethyl acetate, pyridine, glacial acetic acid, and is sparingly soluble in hot chloroform.
