General description

Early endosome antigen 1 (EEA1) is a 170 kDa coiled-coil protein belonging to a group of early endosomal Rab5 effector proteins. EEA1 has a putative role in the tethering/docking of endocytic vesicles prior to their fusion with early endosomes. This protein is characterized as containing a zinc finger-like domain and coiled-coil regions. ’
