Clofentezine is a tetrazine group containing insecticide used against phytophagous mites on citrus fruits, vines, cotton crops, and ornamentals.
As per Regulation (EC) No. 1107/2009, repealing directive 91/414/EEC, clofentezine is approved for plant protection use in the European Union (EU). A maximum residue limit (MRL) of 0.5 mg/kg and 0.05 mg/kg is applicable for the presence of clofentezine in fresh/frozen fruits and tree nuts respectively, in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 2015/846. Clofentezine is to be monitored in the Multiannual Control Programme for Pesticides Residues (MACP), run within the EU and EFTA in/on products of plant origin.

Application

The certified reference material (CRM) is intended to be used as a calibrant for chromatography and other analytical techniques.
  • The clofentezine CRM may also find following uses:
  • Development and validation of a high-performance liquid chromatography-diode-array detection (HPLC-DAD) method following a dispersive solid phase extraction using zirconia-coated silica particles for the analysis of 21 pesticide residues in oil samples
  • Development of a sample preparation method based on magnetic mixed hemimicelles dispersive solid-phase extraction (MMHDSPE) to separate three acaricides from three fruit juice samples
  • Multi-residue determination of 60 pesticide residues in hen eggs using QuEChERS extraction followed by an LC-MS/MS or GC-MS/MS quantification
  • Simultaneous analysis of 302 pesticides and contaminants in ten catfish samples by low-pressure GC-MS/MS and UHPLC-MS/MS
  • GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS based determination of 314 pesticide residues in raisin samples for their risk exposure assessment
  • Simultaneous analysis of 300 pesticide residues in human hair samples by GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS
