Gene Information

human ... LCN2(3934)

General description

Lipocalin-2 (LCN2), a secreted glycoprotein, is an adipokine. It is expressed in various cells like respiratory cells, intestinal epithelial cells, endothelial cells, renal tubular cells and cardiomyocytes. The gene LCN2 is located on human chromosome 9q34. The human lipocalin-2 ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of human lipocalin-2 in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants and urine.

Immunogen

Recombinant Human Lipocalin-2

Application

For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
Please refer to the attached General ELISA KIT Procedure (sandwich, competitive & Indirect ELISA)
Human Lipocalin-2/NGAL ELISA Kit has been used in the electrochemical immunoassay. It has also been used to determine the neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) levels in the urine.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Lipocalin-2 (LCN2) has been implicated in a variety of processes including cell differentiation, tumorigenesis and apoptosis. Polymorphisms in the expression of LCN2 are associated with many cancers such as breast, colorectal, pancreatic, ovarian, gastric, thyroid, ovarian, bladder and kidney cancers.

An innovative signal-transduction tag based on cross-linked urease nanoparticles (CLENP) was designed for the development of a pH meter-based immunoassay of lipocalin-2 (LCN2). The CLENP was synthesized with a typical desolvation method using ethanol as desolvation agent, followed by functionalization with polyaspartic
