General description

Ginsenoside Rk1 is the major bioactive component isolated from heat-processed Panax ginseng Meyer (ginseng) plants. It is a monomeric compound that has been reported to exhibit anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and anti-tumor properties and is utilized for the treatment of cancer and diabetes mellitus.

Application

Ginsenoside Rk1 may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in Panax ginseng preparations and Chinese medicine formula Sheng-Mai San (SMS) and rat plasma samples (post administration of SMS) by chromatography techniques.
