General description

Progesterone, a steroid hormone of the progestogen class, is used for hormone replacement therapy. This internal standard is applicable for progesterone testing or isotope dilution methods by GC/MS or LC/MS for endocrinology, female health testing or clinical chemistry.

Application

  • Progesterone-D₉ solution for hormone research: Progesterone-D₉ is extensively used as an internal standard in pharmacokinetic studies to measure progesterone levels in biological samples using LC-MS/MS, enhancing the accuracy of hormonal assays critical for understanding progesterone′s role in various physiological processes (Sasaki et al., 2015).

  • Stable isotope labeled progesterone for bioanalysis: As a stable isotope-labeled compound, Progesterone-D₉ is integral in mass spectrometry, providing a reliable standard for quantifying progesterone in complex biochemical assays, thus facilitating detailed studies on steroid metabolism and its implications.

  • Deuterated progesterone for mass spectrometry: The application of Progesterone-D₉ in mass spectrometry enhances the precision of detecting and quantifying minute quantities of progesterone and its metabolites, which is crucial for drug development and therapeutic monitoring.

  • Progesterone-D₉ in steroid metabolism studies: Utilized in research to understand the metabolic pathways of progesterone, Progesterone-D₉ helps in tracing the transformation and interaction of this hormone within the body, supporting advancements in reproductive health and disease treatment.
