General description

The polymorphism of 1-heptadecanol was studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray powder diffraction, Raman scattering and infrared spectroscopy (IR).

Application

  • Antidandruff activity and chemical constituents of the leaves of Betula cylindrostachya Lindl. ex Wall: This study highlights the isolation of 1-heptadecanol among other compounds from the leaves, identifying its potential in antidandruff applications (C Singla, M Ali, 2018).
  • Preparation of Sodium Heptadecyl Sulfate (Tergitol-7i): Describes the synthesis process of sodium heptadecyl sulfate from 1-heptadecanol, underlining its importance in industrial applications (BA Banasik, M Samadpour, 2017).
