Gene Information

General description

Histone H2A is one of the 5 main histone proteins involved in the structure of chromatin in eukaryotic cells. Featuring a main globular domain and a long N terminal tail H2A is involved with the structure of the nucleosomes of the ′beads on a string′ structure. The ubiquitination of Histones plays essential roles in the regulation of DNA related processes.

Immunogen

Branch peptide corresponding to human monoubiquitin H2A (Lys119).

Application

Detect Histone H2A using this rabbit polyclonal antibody, Anti-monoubiquitin H2A Antibody (Lys119) validated for use in western blotting, ChIP, IP and ICC.

Immunoprecipitation Analysis: A representative lot from an independent laboratory immunoprecipitated monoubiquitin H2A in mouse Embryonic Stem cell lysate (Farcas, A. M. et al. (2012). Elife [Epub ahead of print].).

Chromatin Immunoprecipitation Analysis: A representative lot from an independent laboratory immunoprecipitated monoubiquitin H2A in mouse Embryonic Stem cell lysate (Farcas, A. M. et al. (2012). Elife [Epub ahead of print].).

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blotting in HeLa acid extract.

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected monoubiquitin H2A (Lys119) in 10 µg of HeLa acid extract.

Target description

~23 kDa observed. Uniprot describes one isoform at 14 kDa; however, this protein may be observed at ~23 kDa due to monoubiquitination.

Physical form
