Application
Trifluoroethylene (TrFE) can be used as a monomer unit for the preparation of fluoropolymer (poly(trifluoroethylene)), which finds application in microelectronics, protective/anti-adhesive coatings, chemical industry and Li-ion batteries. TrFE is also used to synthesize copolymer composites with vinylidene difluoride for various applications.
It can also be used to prepare:
It can also be used to prepare:
- Pentafluoroethane by reacting with xenon difluoride.
- Lithium (trifluorovinyl)trimethoxy borate by treating with trimethyl borate and n-BuLi.
- 2,2,3-Trifluorooxirane.
