General description

Iron(II) ethylenediammonium sulfate tetrahydrate is an iron precursor used in the synthesis of electrocatalysts.

Application

Iron(II) ethylenediammonium sulfate tetrahydrate can be used as an iron precursor salt for the synthesis of Fe/N/carbon-based electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction. It is also used to functionalize multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) with maghemite nanocrystals to enhance the magnetic and electronic properties of MWCNTs. These functionalized nanocomposites are applied for the decontamination of pollutants in water.
