General description

Dechlorogriseofulvin, is a polyketide natural compound and a derivative of griseofulvin, an antifungal agent. This secondary metabolite is naturally derived from Penicillium sp. but has also been reported from endophytic fungi such as Nigrospora sp. It has been found to exhibit various biological activities, including antifungal, antibacterial, antitumor, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Application

It is a natural product derived from plant source that finds application in compound screening libraries, metabolomics, phytochemical, and pharmaceutical research.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Dechlorogriseofulvin functions by inhibiting microtubule assembly, causing disruption in cell division and growth.
