Description

Specificity

Recognition sequence: 5′-T/CTAGA-3′
Cutting results: A 2-10-fold Xba I overdigestion of 1 μg Ad-2 DNA substrate results in 100% cutting
Heat inactivation: Up to 15 units of enzyme inactivated at 65 °C for 15 minutes.

Application

XbaI is a restriction enxyme that cleaves DNA at the recognition site 5′-T/CTAGA-3′ to generate DNA fragments with 5′-cohesive termini.

Supplied with 10x Restriction Enzyme Buffer SH (B3657).

Comment: Xba I will only partially cleave DNA isolated from E. coli strains that have the dam methylase (dam⁺ strains). May cleave at secondary recognition sites under non-optimal conditions.
