Cell Line Description
The human hepatic cell line WRL-68 exhibits a morphology similar to hepatocytes and hepatic primary cultures. Cells have been shown to secrete albumin and α-feto protein and express liver specific enzymes such as alanine amino transferase, aspartate amino transferase, gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase and alkaline phosphatase. Previously contaminated with Mycoplasma; treated and cured at ECACC. This cell line was found to be indistinguishable from HeLa by STR PCR DNA profiling. Therefore, the cell line should be considered as derived from HeLa. Ethnicity: Black.
Application
