General description

This stable-labeled internal standard is suitable for use in quantitation of carbamazepine levels or isotope dilution methods by GC/MS or LC/MS for applications in pain prescription monitoring, clinical toxicology, therapeutic drug monitoring or urine drug testing. Carbamazepine-10,11-epoxide is the primary active metabolite of carbamazepine, an anticonvulsant and moodstabilizing drug used primarily in the treatment of epilepsy and neuropathic pain.

Application

Pharmacological Research in Neuropsychiatry: This compound is instrumental in studies examining cannabidiol and its derivatives for their potential to reduce hyperalgesia and allodynia in conditions like trigeminal neuralgia. Research focuses on the interaction with TRPV1 receptors, offering insights into new therapeutic approaches for pain management (Escobar-Espinal et al., 2024).

Advances in Solid Phase Microextraction: Carbamazepine-10,11-epoxide-13C6 explores is used in covalent organic framework-based solid phase microextraction techniques. These advancements are particularly useful in sensitive screening and quantitative analysis of drugs and their metabolites in biological samples, enhancing the precision of toxicological studies. It is also used in the treatment of epilepsy and neuropathic pains. (Huang et al., 2022).
