General description

This certified reference material (CRM) is produced and certified in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 17034. This CRM is traceable to primary material from an NMI, e.g. NIST or NMIJ. Certified content by quantitative NMR incl. uncertainty and expiry date are given on the certificate. Download your certificate at: http://www.sigma-aldrich.com.

Diethofencarb is a phenylcarbamate fungicide having preventive and curative activity against benzimidazole resistant strains of Botrysis spp. on grapes and vegetables. It is used to control gray mold diseases on many crops by inhibiting phospholipid and fatty acid biosynthesis process.

Diethofencarb has to be monitored in the Multiannual Control Programme for Pesticides Residues (MACP), run within the EU and EFTA in/on products of plant origin.

Diethofencarb was included in Annex I of Commission Directive 2011/26/EU5 on 1 June 2011. As per Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 540/20116, diethofencarb is approved under Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009, repealing Council Directive 91/414/EEC. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has proposed a MRL of diethofencarb at 0.09 mg/kg in bananas imported from Latin American countries following the request received from an evaluating member state (EMS) as per Article 8 of Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 on 9 November 2015.

Application

Diethofencarb may be used as certified reference material for the following:
  • To develop a dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction method based on the solidification of a floating organic droplet (DLLME-SFO) for simultaneous analysis of diethofencarb and pyrimethanil in apple pulp and peel using liquid chromatography with diode-array detection (HPLC-DAD)
  • To investigate the sensitivity profile of Botrytis cinerea field isolates to zoxamide and evaluate the resistance mechanism involved in cross-resistance relationships between benzamides, benzimidazoles, and N-phenylcarbamates
  • To develop an ultrasound-assisted surfactant-enhanced emulsification microextraction method for the analysis of diethofencarb and pyrimethanil fungicides in water and fruit juice samples using high performance liquid chromatography-diode array detector/electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (HPLC-DAD/ESI-MS)
  • Preparation of 3D nanotubes assembly from MoS2 monolayers (3D MoS2NTs) for rapid and selective screening of diethofencarb
  • Development of a dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction method for the determination of diethofencarb and pyrimethanil in aqueous samples
