Gene Information

General description

Monoclonal Anti-E1B-AP5 (rat IgG2b isotype) is derived from the hybridoma EAP4A11 produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells (P3X63Ag8.653) and splenocytes from rat immunized with full length human E1B-AP5 fusion protein. E1B-55K-associated protein 5 (E1B-AP5), also known as heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein U-like 1(hnRNPUL1), is a nuclear RNA-binding protein of the heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) family.
The E1B-AP5 gene is located on the human chromosome at 19q13.2.

Specificity

Monoclonal Anti-E1B-AP5 recognizes human, monkey, bovine, dog, mouse and rat E1B-AP5.

Immunogen

full length human E1B-AP5 fusion protein.

Application

Monoclonal Anti-E1B-AP5 antibody produced in rat may be used in:
  • immunoblotting
  • immunoprecipitation
  • immunocytochemistry

Biochem/physiol Actions

E1B-55K-associated protein 5 (E1B-AP5) plays a vital role in ATR signaling. In addition, it may play an important role in nucleocytoplasmic RNA transport, and its function is modulated by E1B55kDa in adenovirus-infected cells. Interestingly, this protein was found to be associated with bromodomain-containing protein, BRD7 in a complex that links chromatin events with mRNA processing at the level of transcriptional regulation. It also activates transcription of glucocorticoid-responsive promoter in the absence of ligand-stimulation.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01M phosphate buffered saline pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

Storage and Stability

Store at –20 °C. For continuous use, the product may be stored at 2-8 °C for up to one month. For extended storage, freeze in working aliquots at –20 °C. Repeated freezing and thawing, or storage in “frost-free” freezers, is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilution samples should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.
