Gene Information

human ... TRIM16(10626)

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide directed towards the N terminal region of human TRIM16

Biochem/physiol Actions

Tripartite motif containing 16 (TRIM16) is transcriptional repressor belonging to tripartite motif family. It is described as a tumor suppressor protein that interacts with vimentin and E2F1 proteins. It inhibits cell proliferation by inducing cell cycle arrest in G1/S phase in neuroblastoma cells. TRIM16 has the ability to heterodimerize with other TRIM proteins and exhibits E3 ubiquitin ligase activity.

Synthetic peptide located within the following region: PLPRATAQPPAPLSPDSGSPSPDSGSASPVEEEDVGSSEKLGRETEEQDS

Physical form

Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.

TRIM16 exhibits tumour suppressor functions by interacting with cytoplasmic vimentin and nuclear E2F1 proteins in neuroblastoma and squamous cell carcinoma cells, reducing cell migration and replication. Reduced TRIM16 expression in a range of human primary malignant tissues correlates with increased

Neuroblastoma is the most common solid tumor in childhood and represents 15% of all children's cancer deaths. We have previously demonstrated that tripartite motif 16 (TRIM16), a member of the RING B-box coiled-coil (RBCC)/tripartite totif (TRIM) protein family, has significant

The TRIM family of proteins is distinguished by its tripartite motif (TRIM). Typically, TRIM proteins contain a RING finger domain, one or two B-box domains, a coiled-coil domain and the more variable C-terminal domains. TRIM16 does not have a RING
