Application

Owing to their plasmonic properties nanoparticles of gold and silver find broad range of applications extending from diagnostics to molecular detection, photothermal and microwave-based therapies, and nanotoxicology. Colloidal silver nanoparticles also find applications in electronics and photovoltaics, and surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) whereas the colloidal gold nanoparticles find applications in lateral flow assays (immunochromatographic assays) and as TEM labels and size standards.

Our NanoXact materials are precisely engineered, unagglomerated silver nanospheres with a narrow size distributions (CVs <15% for 30-200 nm sizes, <20% for 20 nm, and <25% for 5 and 10 nm sizes). These nanospheres contain PVP (40 kD polyvinylpyrrolidone) as excipient. The PVP enhances stability and dispersibility of NanpXact silver nanospheres. These are redispersible in a variety of polar solvents such as water, alcohols, DMF, and DMSO. They show medium dispersibility in chloroform, and low dispersibility in dichloromethane.

Storage and Stability

DO NOT FREEZE. Store at 2-25C in a dry place. Nanomaterials can be sensitive to high and low pH conditions and high salt concentrations. Use caution when changing environmental conditions as particles may aggregate.
