Allgemeine Beschreibung

The gene GDA (guanine deaminase) is mapped to human chromosome 9q21.13. It is strongly expressed in liver, brain, kidney and placenta.

Anwendung

Biochem./physiol. Wirkung

GDA (guanine deaminase) is a metalloenzyme and is important for deamination of guanine to xanthine. It is also involved in the development of dendrites by mediating microtubule assembly. High levels of GDA are linked with liver disease and transplant rejection.
