Anwendung

The Human Protein Atlas project can be subdivided into three efforts: Human Tissue Atlas, Cancer Atlas, and Human Cell Atlas. The antibodies that have been generated in support of the Tissue and Cancer Atlas projects have been tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues and through the recent efforts of the Human Cell Atlas project, many have been characterized by immunofluorescence to map the human proteome not only at the tissue level but now at the subcellular level. These images and the collection of this vast data set can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. Biochem./physiol. Wirkung

YY1AP1 (YY1 associated protein 1) is a ubiquitously expressed co-activator protein consisting of two YY1 binding regions. It is localized mainly in the nucleus. However, it is also expressed in various cancer cell lines. YY1AP1 is involved in the several transcription reactions. It possesses a transactivation domain for co-regulating transcription. It accelerates the transcriptional activities of YY1 responsive promoter by combining with the YY1. It also plays an important role in the HCC (hepatocellular carcinoma) genesis and progression. It has been reported that YY1AP blocks cell cycle at G0/G1 stage, which further inhibits cell proliferation.
