General description
Moisture trap or drying tube is suitable to maintain anhydrous conditions within the apparatus. There are two types of drying tubes. It is usually prepared by placing a small, loose plug of glass wool or cotton into the constriction at the end of the tube. A drying agent is poured on top the plug.[1] Molecular sieve 5A has the affinity for water and easily displaces other trapped gases.[2]
Molecular Sieve 5A efficiently removes moisture and heavy hydrocarbons from compressed air, electrolytically produced hydrogen, house nitrogen, or other gases with high moisture or hydrocarbon content.

What is the recommended method for regeneration? Can the entire tube be placed in the oven, or should the desiccant be removed and regenerated separately?

When the material in the Molecular Sieve 5A trap (20619) becomes "spent" or used up, it cannot be regenerated. In such a case, the customer would need to purchase Mol Sieve 5A refills (code 20298) and replace the old material in the trap.
