Biochem/physiol Actions
Recombinant full-length human tag-free Tau-316 was expressed in E. coli cells. Tau-316 encodes the microtubule-associated protein tau (MAPT) whose transcript undergoes complex, regulated alternative splicing, giving rise to several mRNA species. Tau-316 transcripts are differentially expressed in the nervous system, depending on stage of neuronal maturation and neuron type (1). Tau-316 gene mutations have been associated with several neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer′s disease, Pick′s disease, frontotemporal dementia, cortico-basal degeneration and progressive supranuclear palsy (2).
Preparation Note
Formulated in 50mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5, 150 mM NaCl, 0.25 mM DTT, 0.1 mM PMSF, with 25% glycerol.
Store in aliquots at -70°C. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles.
