IL-8 (interleukin-8), also called CXCL8, is an α chemokine belonging to the cysteine-x-cysteine (CXC) chemokine subfamily. It is a pro-inflammatory cytokine and is secreted by multiple types of tissues and blood cells such as, monocytes, neutrophils, tissue macrophages, T-lymphocytes, endothelial and epithelial cells, and fibroblasts. It is pro-angiogenic and tumorigenic, and is produced by cancer cells such as, colorectal cancer cells.
Anti-Interleukin-8 antibody produced in chicken is suitable for indirect ELISA and western blotting analysis at a dilution of 1:500, for tissue or cell staining at a dilution of 1:200.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Interleukin-8 (IL 8) is a proinflammatory chemokine that activates multiple signaling pathways. The exosomes released from chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) cells stimulate bone marrow stromal cells to produce IL 8. It plays a very important regulatory function in tumorigenesis. Its polymorphism is associated with a significantly increased risk of cancers and may be useful for cancer susceptibility studies.
Physical form
Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.

Colorectal cancer represents a major cause of mortality and morbidity and occupies the third place as cancer incidence and the fourth place as cancer mortality. Colorectal cancer causes 608 000 deaths per year, despite correct applied treatment (surgery and chemotherapy).
Chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) is a myeloproliferative disorder characterized by the Bcr-Abl oncoprotein with constitutive tyrosine kinase activity. Exosomes are nanovesicles released by cancer cells that are involved in cell-to-cell communication thus potentially affecting cancer progression. It is well known

The objective of this study was to analyze the expression levels of IL-8 in serum and liver tissues from patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) infection and to investigate whether IL-8 may antagonize interferon-alpha (IFN-α) antiviral activity against HBV. IL-8

Emerging evidences show that interleukin-8 (IL-8) has important regulatory functions in tumorigenesis. IL-8 -251A/T is a single nucleotide polymorphism in the promoter region of the IL-8 gene and affects IL-8 production. Analysis of previous studies on the association of -251A/T
