Features and Benefits
- The hinged Eppendorf® Safe-Lock lid provides additional protection against unintentional lid opening during incubation and storage.
- g-Safe®:Provides great centrifugation stability and prevents sample loss due to tube breakage
- The optimized sealing properties ensures safety when working with hazardous samples and minimal evaporation rates during long-term storage.
- The large frosted lid and wide side-surface area make labeling convenient.
- Functions between temperatures -86 °C to 100 °C
- Autoclavable when open (121 °C, 20 min)
- Hinged Eppendorf Safe-Lock lid prevents unintentional lid opening during incubation and storage.
- Polypropylene provides high resistance to chemicals, mechanical stress and temperature extremes.
- Manufactured without the use of slip agents, plasticizers, and biocides – substances that have been shown to leach from plastic consumables into the sample and negatively affect bio-assay results, g-Safe®: Exceptional centrifugation stability up to 30,000 × g prevents sample loss due to tube breakage and provides extra safety when working with hazardous samples.
- Precise lid sealing for minimal evaporation rates during long-term storage.
- Large frosted lid and surface on the side for easy labelling.
- Guaranteed functionality from -86 °C to 100 °C.
- Autoclavable when open (121 °C, 20 min).
- Available in Eppendorf Protein and DNA LoBind material for maximum recovery of valuable samples.
Using the Eppendorf 30,000 × g system comprising of Safe-Lock Tubes and Centrifuge 5430 R with high-speed rotor, the effect of relative centrifugal force (rcf), duration of centrifugation and the amount of isopropanol on the recovery rate of plasmid DNA from alcohol precipitation were investigated. All three factors play a role, with rcf having the greatest effect. By centrifuging the Eppendorf Safe-Lock Tubes at 30,000 × g, nearly 90% of DNA could be recovered from a 5 min centrifugation.
