Biochem/physiol Actions

Binds erthropoietin with high affinity and is an erythropoietin antagonist.
Recombinant human soluble erythropoietin receptor binds erthropoietin with high affinity and is an erythropoietin antagonist.

Physical form

Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 5% trehalose and 50 ug of bovine serum albumin per 1 ug of cytokine.

Analysis Note

The biological activity is measured by its ability to inhibit the recombinant human erythropoietin mediated cell proliferation of human TF1 cells.[1]

We have established a novel cell line, designated as TF-1, from a patient with erythroleukemia, which showed complete growth dependency on granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) or on interleukin-3 (IL-3) and carried a homogeneous chromosomal abnormality (54X). Erythropoietin (EPO) also sustained
