Gene Information

human ... SMAD2(4087)

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide directed towards the N terminal region of human SMAD2

Biochem/physiol Actions

SMAD proteins are transcription regulators that mediate multiple signal transduction pathways. SMAD2 mediates the TGF-β pathway that is involved in a wide variety of cellular processes such as cell growth, apoptosis, survival, differentiation, morphogenesis and immune responses. SMAD/TGF-β signaling accelerates skin wound healing.

Synthetic peptide located within the following region: VVKRLLGWKKSAGGSGGAGGGEQNGQEEKWCEKAVKSLVKKLKKTGRLDE

Physical form

Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.

In a previous study, we isolated human amniotic fluid (AF)-derived mesenchymal stem cells (AF-MSCs) and utilized normoxic conditioned medium (AF-MSC-norCM) which has been shown to accelerate cutaneous wound healing. Because hypoxia enhances the wound healing function of mesenchymal stem cell-conditioned
