Application

An excellent chelating agent.
Nitrilotriacetic has been used in the preparation of nitrilotriacetic (NTA) solution for Ni-NTA slide generation.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Nitrilotriacetic (NTA) has the ability to link with histidine side chain of proteins. It can be used in fluorescent labelling, hexahistidine (His6)-tagged proteins for purification and surface immobilization.

Other Notes

Chelating agent; As Pb2+ buffer, preparation and properties; In a mixture of Ca2+-buffering ligands; Encapsulation of radioactive metal ions in liposomes[1]; Compilation and critical evaluation by IUPAC of published data on stability constants of NTA complexes in solution.
