Bromophenol blue (BroB), an arylmethane color marker dye has a molecular mass of 670 Da.

Application

A tracking dye for nucleic acid or protein electrophoresis in agarose or polyacrylamide gels.

Bromophenol Blue sodium salt has been used in the buffer solution to differentiate dead and living cells. It has also been used as a constituent in gel loading buffer.[1]
