General description

Disulfoton-sulfoxide is one of the oxidative metabolites of disulfoton, an organophosphorus insecticide used against aphids, mites, and thrips.

Application

Disulfoton-sulfoxide may be used as a reference standard for the determination of the analyte:
  • In human biological samples based on QuEChERS (Quick, Easy, Cheap, Effective, Rugged, and Safe) extraction and liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry.
  • In cereal-based baby foods and wheat flour using hollow-fiber liquid-phase microextraction prior to gas chromatography with nitrogen phosphorus detection.

In this research, the manual two-step QuEChERS approach has been streamlined and automated into a one-step method using a cleanup tube fitted within an extraction tube. A novel automatic QuEChERS combination have been developed to simplify the QuEChERS procedures and
